Motorhome on the ferry vs. Eurotunnel

⚠ Eurotunnel: 2.55m height limit

Motorhomes, high-roof vans and most A-class motorhomes over 2.55m height cannot use the Eurotunnel (Le Shuttle). The ferry has no height restriction.

✅ Ferry Calais–Dover: no height limit

All motorhome heights are accepted on the Calais–Dover ferry. Always enter the exact dimensions (length, height, weight) when booking – these are checked at the port.

For motorhomes over 2.55m height, the ferry is the only option – the Eurotunnel strictly enforces its height limit. Even for lower campervans, the ferry is usually cheaper and more comfortable.
